NEW CHANGES & INFORMATION WITH REGARDS TO FUTURE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS (GMM)

Due to the new Bylaws that were recently passed, there are some changes in the GMM times, changes to voting on positions, as well as motions on the floor.

  • There will be two times you can now attend a GMM. There will be a morning time of 09:00 and an evening time of 19:30. This was changed in the hope of allowing more members the opportunity to attend a GMM to voice their opinion and to be more informed with current issues
  • Scheduled Months of a regular GMM is still the same; January, March, May, June, September & November and usually occur on a Wednesday  (The Wednesday day of the Month for the year 2020 TBA)
  • Due to a morning and a night GMM, Motions on the floor at the morning GMM with be counted via a vote of; for and against. Then at the evening GMM, the Motion will again be presented, and a vote count will take place. Both morning and evening vote tallies will be counted in order to determine if the motion passed or was voted down.
  • Electronic voting will now take place for elected positions only. We are in the process of preparing for electronic voting for the January 2020 GMM. An Election Committee consisting of a Chief Returning Officer and Assistance(s) will be appointed at the November 20th GMM. This committee shall have full responsibility for voting arrangements and make all decisions regarding the election process. Members interested in the election committee must be a member in good standing and who are neither Officers nor candidates for office. If interested, attend the November GMM.
